The left looks as though it has three, but then you mention that 'The left side pleat then has a strip of material on its inside which is attached and intervals' - is this the innermost third layer, and is it a separate piece that is attached? It's difficult to tell from the photos if the right side has two or three layers.
Also, are all the pleats the same width, and if so, what would that measurement be, approximately?
Any details regarding this would be greatly appreciated, thank you! It's a bit difficult to visualise without knowing exactly how it works.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2408260362485505331.post-73301620897847776072012-01-31T05:54:51.291+00:002012-01-31T05:54:51.291+00:00I'm working on a feminine version of the coat ...I'm working on a feminine version of the coat for myself, and while I'm not trying to duplicate it exactly, I'd like to do the main pleat/slit in the back. Any advice/photos/diagrams/whatever you'd mind sharing to help me figure it out? I can't seem to wrap my brain around how it works.DoubtingSalmonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18242372989342629824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2408260362485505331.post-86100251066842563742009-03-30T19:16:00.000+01:002009-03-30T19:16:00.000+01:00I stumbled upon your blog a few weeks back and am ...I stumbled upon your blog a few weeks back and am thoroughly impressed with your research and diligence. I am a third year apparel design student and also draft my own patterns. I have just revised my Tennant Suit pattern and am now half way through the drafting of the Coat. I would enjoy forming a dialogue with you in regards to both patterns as you undoubtedly know your stuff. I hope it isn't stepping out of bounds, but I have been exhaustively searching for the Alcantara fabric in question and was wondering if you'd share your source? That would make this Coat leaps and bounds better than it ever could be! Thank you again for all of your hard work and please feel free to contact me with any questions as I enjoy sharing the creative process with those that care.
Kind regards,
SethSethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00332467105746217769noreply@blogger.com
